Tivat
Tivat is a modern and rapidly developing city on the shores of the Bay of Kotor, where rich historical heritage, natural beauty, and a comfortable infrastructure blend harmoniously. Thanks to its strategic location in the southern part of the bay and the presence of an international airport, Tivat serves as one of Montenegro’s key transportation hubs, providing convenient connections to other cities in the country and international destinations.
Tivat’s history dates back several centuries. According to one theory, the city was named after the Illyrian queen Teuta, who ruled these lands in the 3rd century BC. During the Middle Ages, Tivat was a small agricultural settlementowned by the nobility from Kotor. However, its fate changed dramatically in the 19th century, when the Austro-Hungarian authorities built a naval base and arsenal here. This event spurred the city’s development, and over time, the naval complex transformed into the modern Porto Montenegro marina.

Today, Porto Montenegro is one of the most prestigious marinas on the Adriatic, attracting superyacht owners and luxury travelers. It is not just a yacht harbor but also an exclusive residential complex, luxury hotels, restaurants, boutiques, and sports clubs. The marina hosts international regattas, high-profile social events, and cultural festivals, making Tivat a hub of yachting culture and glamorous leisure in Montenegro.

Despite its modern infrastructure, Tivat has retained the relaxed charm of a coastal town. Its palm-lined waterfront, filled with lush greenery and vibrant flowers, is perfect for leisurely strolls and evening relaxation.
The city offers a variety of cozy cafés, stylish bars, and restaurants, serving Mediterranean cuisine. One of the main natural attractions is the Tivat Archipelago, which includes the islands of St. Mark, Flowers, and Gospa od Milosti.

Tivat is also known for its parks and natural areas. In the heart of the city lies Tivat City Park, founded by naval officers in the 19th century, featuring exotic plants from around the world. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore the Lovćen mountains or the Gornja Lastva nature reserve, where they can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the bay.

Tivat is a unique fusion of modernity and tradition, energy and tranquility. Here, visitors can enjoy premium services, stunning sea views, a welcoming atmosphere, and a rich cultural heritage. The city has become a symbol of the new Montenegrin coast, making it an ideal destination for both luxury seekers and those looking for a stylish and comfortable seaside getaway.
